How to Report Things
The best way to report abusive content or spam on Facebook is by using the Report link near the content itself. Below are some examples of how you can report content to us. Learn more about reporting abuse.
If you don't have an account or can't see the content you'd like to report (example: someone blocked you), learn what you can do.
Report Content
Profiles
To report a profile:
- Go to the profile you want to report.
- Click
to the right and select Find Support or Report Profile.
- To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this profile goes against our Community Standards, then click Next.
- Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Facebook. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn. Click Done.
If someone’s bothering you on Facebook, you can also unfriend or block them.
Posts
To report a post:
- Click
in the top right of the post.
- Click Find support or report post.
- To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this post goes against our Community Standards. Click Next.
- Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Facebook. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn. Click Done.
Posts on Your Timeline
- In the top right of the post, click
.
- Click Find support or report post and then click the option that best describes how this post goes against our Community Standards.
You can also block the person who posted this content on your timeline.
Photos and Videos
To report a photo or video:
- Click on the photo or video to expand it. If the profile is locked and you can't view the full-sized photo, click Find support or report photo.
- Click
to the right of the photo or video.
- Click Find Support or Report Photo for photos or Report Video for videos.
- Select the option that best describes the issue and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you're having trouble reporting something, please log in from a computer and use the report links.
Messages
To report a message that goes against our Community Standards:
- Open the message.
- If you opened the message as a pop-up window, click
. If you opened the message in Message view, click
.
- Click Something's Wrong.
- To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this message goes against our Community Standards.
- Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Facebook. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn.
If you think a message you've received goes against our Community Standards, you can let us know.
You can also report it using the Messenger app. To learn about how to report conversations in the Messenger app, visit the Messenger Help Center.

Pages
- Go to the Page you want to report by clicking its name in your News Feed or searching for it.
- Click
below the Page's cover photo.
- Select Find Support or Report Page.
- To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this Page goes against our Community Standards.
- Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Facebook. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn.
If you can't access the Page you want to report, consider asking a friend to report it.
Groups
To report a group:
- Go to the group you want to report.
- Click
below the group's cover photo.
- Select Report Group.
Events
To report an event:
- Go to the event you want to report.
- Click
and select Report Event.
- To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this profile goes against our Community Standards.
- Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Facebook. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn.
Comments
To report a comment on your Page or someone else's Page or profile:
- Go to the comment you want to report.
- Click
next to the comment.
- Click Give feedback or report this comment.
- To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this comment goes against our Community Standards. If you don't see any options that fit, click Something Else to search for more.
- Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Facebook. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn.
Currently, you can't report a comment on your own profile, but you can hide or delete it. You can also block someone from seeing your profile if they post offensive comments.
Ads on Facebook
To report an ad you see on Facebook:
- Click
next to the ad you want to report
- Click Report ad and then follow the on-screen instructions
When you report an ad, it is subjected to our ad review system. That process relies on automated tools, and in some cases manual review, to check ads against our Advertising Policies. When we detect a violation of our policies, we will remove the ad. We continuously review ads on our platform based on many signals, including user feedback, to improve the integrity and relevance of advertising on Facebook.
